We are making progress!
Hi! How are you?
After a long time, finally,
all groups from Portugal decided to start working seriously.
And you?
For the third week, we met on
a Wednesday afternoon to work on our projects.
We’re very tired, but, we did several
things and we shared so many ideas!
We organized action plans, and
decided what we wanted to do.
For example, my group (Green Magazine) has set goals.
We spent an afternoon thinking
about the content (news and interviews) of the magazine. We created the index
(available below) and we also though it could be nice to have puzzles, quizzes…
We used the concept of
“interesting magazine”. Something attractive, that doesn’t make the reader feel
bored while reading.
Now, we need a layout.
Anyone has any suggestions?

While working in our project,
we also had a look to what other groups were doing.
They’re really striving!
And you?
I’m sure you’re also doing your work. Won’t you share any photos/information?

Second chance?
Hello
everyone! I’m Inês and I am working with my friends on the gardening Project (by
the way, we’re from Portugal).
So,
basically, we decided we were going to spend our vacation at school (if you can
call it “vacation”, of course), and we are really happy with the way we’re
working.
We
found this lovely chest of drawers (with no drawers at all) ready to go to the
trash, so we thought: why not give it a second chance?
We colected ideas, made our plans and
looked for the flowers we want to use.
And here we are, wishing our plans
work the way we want to, and working the way we have to.
Wish us good luck.

Our city, our country...
This video was made by Inês Silva (gardening)
and Soraia Ferreira (recycling). The idea was taken from the youtube tag “Draw
my life” and we thought it would be a good way to show our city to our
colleagues from other countries.
We had a great time doing it, because we wanted
the final result to be fun and enjoyable for its viewers.
We
hope people get the idea of how many awesome things our culture, country and
city have to offer so, sit back… and enjoy it!

Expectations...Ana, Cláudia, Ricardo And Rita
Our
expectations are to get to know new cultures that we do not know and share a
good communication experience with foreign countries. We hope to help the
environment creating different projects with reusable material and we still
hope to have great team spirit with our foreign colleagues and with those who
go to our school. We want our projects to be models of future.

Eco food
It is always important
to participate in projects like this because it helps us enriching our
knowledge at various levels, by extending our horizons. It gives us the
opportunity of being in touch with people from other countries and develop
ideas.
A project is a group activity designed to develop
ideas using different strategies with an aim: to create something new (an
object, service or result). It is possible to have knowledge of the viability
and success of this project by the feedback we have had from previous years. It
is an interesting project because it focuses on sustainability and business
success worrying about the environmental issues.

Green Magazine
In this project, I would like to develop new skills
related to my area (I am in the project Green Magazine), meet new people with
different cultures and improve my English. In addition, I also hope to develop
an interesting project, improve my social skills interacting with the others
and above all, contribute for such a project in the secondary school of Caldas
das Taipas.

Expectations...Inês Paredes.
Gardening...
I hope this project is a good strategy to connect
foreign countries and also a vehicle of developing creativity what will certainly
help us the in near future.
But more important, I hope we can have a bit of fun.

Expectations from Norway...
Public Transport...
We expect much fun, inspiration and creativity from
this project. We also expect the people involved to act polite and tidy, so
that it will be easy cooperating with them.
Reusing and Recycling...
We first sent an e-mail to the girls from Portugal
with a gesture saying "hi". We opened a group on Facebook called
"Green Business Recycling Group". We have had some contact with the
others, and they all seem very nice. We look forward working with you guys, and
hopefully make some new friends as well. This is a great project, lets get to
work!
Gardening...
We expect to learn more about gardening, and how it
can help businesses. And we are looking forward to meet the students from the
other countries, and experience other cultures.
First contact, we
sent a mail and made a facebook group, where we invited students from the other
countries. After this we started to talk to each other :- )

Gardening...
I hope that this Project will really matter in terms of our knowledge improvement in different areas, such as different cultures, ecology and how to organize, create and work in a project.

I also think it will also be
really good to be able to interact with people that, in other ways, we wouldn’t
and therefore develop friendship.

Logo: Participating in this Project …
We were asked to join a Comenius project at our school,
and we decided to accept because it was an interesting idea that would appeal
to our imagination and give us the possibility to create something that could
be known and used by several countries, the project participants.
We started by facing the
challenge of making a logo, we didn´t expect to win but we enjoyed doing it
very much. It was a big surprise and we think our class did very well because
the logo that got the second place was also from our class.

Visiting Riga...
During the winter, Riga is so cold and the wind is so harsh that we must wear gloves, hats; and so on … Walking through Riga with this weather is a real adventure.
House of the
Blackheads, originally called
the New House, was built in 1334.
It was destroyed during the war and
rebuilt in
the XX century.
S. Jacobo Cathedral dates from the 12th century,
it is
the largest medieval church in the Baltic.
It’s reddish color draws our attention.
Riga has been named a UNESCO World Heritage Site thanks to the
collection of art nouveau buildings.
The
students were our tourist guides and they played their role very well.
Riga
is an amazing city, and Latvian people are very proud of their past...

We went to Latvia
Last November, between 16th and 19th, responsible
teachers from each school participated in the first mobility of our Green Business project. We met at Riga
22 Secondary School, in Riga, the lovely capital of Latvia. Marina, our host,
was excellent in organizing everything so we could, in a very short period of
time, do all the things we had to and also experience something of Latvian culture.

First things first …
The “Green Business” Comenius project, a multilateral partnership,
involving schools in France, Latvia, Norway, Portugal and Slovakia, consists of
developing 5 small projects within the issues of environment.
In the first mobility that took place Latvia, last November (16th
-19th) some teachers and coordinators met to plan, discuss and
decide about some strategies and / or activities we should carry out during the
next 2 years.
We agreed on the areas (projects) students should work on – A Garden;
Eco food; A Green Magazine; Public transport and Reusing/recycling.
International teams will develop these projects, based on a collaborative
strategy. Knowledge should be shared, in different situations, either involving
students or teachers. It is also one of the aims of our project Green Business that teachers share
information and know how about the educational systems within this
context of the European Union.
